摘要：This paper attempted to see how thematic progression patterns are used in theresearch article abstracts written in English by research article writers from the ArabicLiterature discipline. To this end, 20 research article abstracts were extracted from theArabic Literature Journal published in 2012 and were analyzed based on thematicprogression model proposed by McCabe (1999). The data analysis reported greater useof the constant thematic progression pattern compared to the linear thematicprogression pattern. This study may have implication for research article writers in theArabic Literature discipline.
