摘要:The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between performance and cardiovascular endurance of university level female sprinters. The data were collected from twenty five female sprinters who participated in the inter college athletic meets of Panjab University, Chandigarh and Punjabi University, Patiala during the year 2009- 2010. Performances were recorded from 100 meters sprint and cardiovascular endurance was measured by Cooper's 12 Minutes Run and Walk test. To establish the relationship between performance and cardiovascular endurance Pearson's Product Moment correlation was used. Analysis revealed that co-efficient of 0.28,0.04,0.05,0.01,0.10 and 0.04 between age and 100 meter performance, cardiovascular endurance ,maximum heart rate, recovery heart rate after 1 minute, recovery heart rate after 2 minutes and recovery heart rate after 3minutes respectively were found to be insignificant Similarly coefficient of 0.00,0.03,0.24,0.28 and 0.31 between 100 meter performance and cardiovascular endurance, maximum heart rate, recovery heart rate after 1 minute, recovery heart rate after 2 minutes and recovery heart rate after 3minutes respectively were also found to be insignificant at .05 level. Correlation between cardiovascular endurance of female sprinters and recovery heart rate after 1 minute (0.47) was found to be significant at the .05 level and maximum heart rate (0.37), recovery heart rate after 2 minutes (0.33), recovery heart rate after 3 minutes (0.21) were found to be insignificant. Where as coefficient of correlation between maximum heart rate and recovery heart rate after 1 minute (0.80), recovery heart rate after 2 minutes (0.587) and recovery heart rate after 3 minutes (0.46) were found to be highly significant at .01 level of significance. Similarly correlations between various recovery stages were also found to be significant at .05 levels.
