摘要：Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) have attracted much attention in recent years. The potential applications of WSNs are immense. They are used fo r collecting, storing and sharing sensed data. A sensor network consists of multiple detection stations called sensor nodes, each of which is small, lightweight and portable. Every sensor node is equipped with a microcomputer , transceiver and power source. WSNs have been used for various applications including habitat monitoring, agriculture, nuclear reactor control, security and tactical surveillance. The architecture of a WSN s ystem comprises of a set of sensor nodes and a base station that communicate with each other and gather local information to make global decisions about the physical environment. In this paper a study is made on the Applications, Architecture and protocols of Wireless sensor networks
