摘要：On a global scale, the present relief is the result of a long tectonic evolution that started inthe Precambrian by the dynamics of various lithospheric blocks. The tectonic events in thesouthwestern East-European Platform (generated by the Precambrian orogenies) influenced ourcountry landforms. Blocks (partially emersed microplates) detached from its labile edge. Marinebasins (with different sedimentation in time and space), deep faults, rifts, subduction alignmentsand finally orogenetic systems, post-tectonic depressions, volcanism and dry land units evolvedbetween these blocks. They gradually merged by both tectonic influences and accumulation oferoded materials from the surrounding continental areas. In time, the selective denudation of theland units created characteristic landforms. Various types of leveling steps were preserved, beingrelated to the long pre-Quaternary periods, and then to the various Quaternary landforms. Theyare all part of three major morphostructural systems resulted in different stages.
