摘要:The problem of overweight and obesity, undervalued in the past, now represent a public health epidemic in the world because the overweight and obesity raising the risk of Chronic Noncommunicable Diseases (NCD), physical disability and psychological problems. Children and adolescents had been immersed in obesogenic environments. Simultaneously they are exposed to a growing supply of industrially processed foods, high in calories and a sedentary lifestyle. The children and adolescents not are eating adequate amounts of fruits and vegetables. It is recognized that consumption of 400 g of FV per day may preventing obesity and chronic diseases. Since 2009, Colombia has a legal framework to address the problem of overweight and obesity in children and rise the amount of consume of FV. It is known that schools are the setting for potentially effective interventions to increase consumption ofthese nutrients. They offer an adequate place for interventions to large populations and give to the students the opportunity to institutionalize programs. We recommend developing local strategies for schools to be included in a plan of NCD prevention.
