摘要:Suicide is considered a major cause of death in the world, therefore, is a public health problem worldwide. Suicide is defined as that human behavior that does end his life voluntarily. We conducted a retrospective, longitudinal study, based on records supplied by the Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences, Santa Marta region for the period 2004-2010 of suicides by women for the Department of Magdalena. This investigation found that during the period 2004 to 2010 in the department of Magdalena showed 206 suicides, of which 30 (14.5%) were accomplished by women, and of these, two women (6.66%) were adolescents. It is concluded that the prevalence of female suicide in the study period was 14.5%.
