摘要:Judo is a sport that requires an athlete's high metabolic demand characterized by movements of short-duration and high intensity. Since many athletes restrict energy intake in order to reduce body weight and compete in a lower weight category, this study aimed to demonstrate the dietary and anthropometric profile of judo male competitors, aged 15 to 32 years old, of a team from west Santa Catarina, affiliated to Federação Catarinense de Judô. Eleven athletes participated in the study. Anthropometric assessment was carried out determining weight, height, skinfold thickness, BMI and % of body fat. The consumption of energy, carbohydrates, proteins and lipids was assessed through the 24 hour recordatory. According to the results, BMI (24.8 ± 3.24) and percentage of body fat (10.9 ± 4.02) indicate values within normal limits. The dietary evaluation indicates energy intake 2399.29 ± 890.29 and carbohydrate (58.36 ± 6.03) lower than recommended, while the consumption of fat (20.51 ± 5.79 ) and protein (1.74 ± 0.68) were within normal limits. The main result of the faulty diet is the loss in performance. The importance of having monitoring of a professional in nutrition on nutritional behavior for athletes is essential, with the intention to optimize sport performance.
