摘要:The objective of this study was to diagnose the anthropometrics, biochemical and nutritional profile of professional football players from a male football team in Salvador / BA. It is a cross-sectional study conducted with a sample of 35 professional football players. It was used as collect instruments a digital scale attached to a stadiometer from Fizzolla brand, a scientific caliper from Cerscof brand and a form to collect the recall food of 24hs. The anthropometric assessment was performed by measuring height, weight and skinfold thickness, using the Faulkner Protocol for determining the corporal composition. The biochemical evaluations were made through analysis of medical records and exams on dietary recall in 24 hours, respectively. Players of this study showed within the compatible standards according to the sports activity and tactical position on the game. In relation to the biochemical tests, all of them seem to be on the normal standards waited and able to do their activities. As regard to the nutritional assessment, the dietary recall of 24hs showed that the total caloric content and amount of carbohydrate intake were lower than recommended, while protein intake made up of the recommendations, within the normal range only the amount of lipids. Therefore, it is concluded that professional football players who participated in this study had adequate biochemical and anthropometric profile and nutritional inadequacies. The results suggest that nutritional interventions must be performed to assist on improving the performance of these players and much larger studies are needed on the subject.
