摘要：Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is being increasingly recognized and widely researched as a condition with high incidence but potentially preventable. It is increasingly associated with trauma of various types including hospital and intensive care admission (ICU) and is a now a recognized entity among the ICU survivors requiring a multidisciplinary approach including psychotherapy. The authors herein, give an overview of PTSD, including the recent diagnostic guidelines and an outline of the treatment.
