摘要:The adsorption of polyethylene oxide has been studied on gold surface by means of quartz crystal microbalance with impedance analysis. The QCM-Z results indicate that larger amounts of polymer are adsorbed from aqueous solutions on substrates. The experimental adsorption data for the polymers can be described fairly well by the frequency change and dissipation offered by the film. Nonspecific protein adsorption generally occurs on any solid surfaces and usually has adverse consequences. Adsorption of proteins onto a solid surface is believed to be the initial and controlling step in biofouling. Surfaces modified with PEO have been shown to be protein-resistant to some degree. In this study, the adsorption of PEO was performed on gold surface. The mechanical properties of adsorbed layer can be determined by measuring impedance of crystal. Knowing resistance, inductance, and capacitance of the crystal, frequency change of the crystal (Δf) and dissipation (ΔD) can be calculated using an equivalent circuit analysis
