摘要:This research aims to compare the standardizedTCP variants on MANETs and thereby comprehensivelyanalyzes their performance under varying no. of TCPconnections in network with different TCP variants. Therouting protocol that are considered in the analysis isDynamic Source Routing (DSR) In addition, from a transportlayer’s perspective, it is necessary to consider TransmissionControl Protocol (TCP) as well for MANETs because of itswide application, which enjoys the advantage of reliable datatransmission in the Internet. Hence, it is the most important toidentify the most suitable and efficient TCP variants that canrobustly perform under these specific conditions. Therefore,this also makes an attempt to evaluate the performance of thefour TCP variants (New Reno, SACK, TCP and Hybrid TCP)under a variety of network conditions. The simulations resultsreveal that out of the four, the Hybrid TCP variant can adaptrelatively well to the changing network sizes while the SACKperforms most robustly in different TCP connectionsscenarios. On the other hand, the research asserts the fact ofsuperiority of, reactive protocol when routing the same trafficin the network. Nonetheless, among the reactive protocolsDSR performance (in the presence of a static mobility) hasbeen found to be remarkable.
