摘要：Sign language is the only tool of communication forthe person who is not able to speak and hear anything. Signlanguage is a boon for the physically challenged people toexpress their thoughts and emotion. In this paper, a novel scemeof sign language recognition has been proposed for identifyingthe alphabets in sign language. 10 different spatial domainfeatures ahs been extracted and used for recognition task. Backpropagationneural network is used for classification offeatures. Results obtained shows a good accuracy of this systemin recognizing the alphabets.
