摘要:Uniform surface morphology of almond-like ZnO microcrystals has been observed in thin film,deposited at room temperature on a glass slide by chemical bath deposition method. The almond-like crystals showsapproximate length of 1.5 μm, diameter of 0.5 μm and tip of about 100 nm. This morphology was found in thin filmdeposited from 0.05M zinc nitrate (Zn(NO3)2.6H2O) solution at pH 8. The structural and optical properties of the filmwas examined and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Energy-dispersivespectroscopy X-ray diffraction (EDAX) and UV-Vis spectroscopy. XRD pattern shows that the crystals have hexagonalwurtzite structure with preferred (002) growth direction. The deposited film shows UV absorption at 381.3 nm .
