摘要：This research paper deals with an analytical study of Indian Copyright Act and its various amendmentstill 2012.This article gives a clear idea about the history of Indian Copyright Act and further developments. The impactof the Copyright (Amendment) Act, 2012 on the Copyright Act, 1957 is extremely broad. Significantly, thisamendment also envisages that private and personal copying will be treated as „fair dealing‟. This, interestingly, allowsusers to break the Digital Rights Management (DRM) on their legally purchased content, as long as they are notviolating the copyright terms.
