  • 摘要:Black Cotton soil is one of the major soil deposits of India. They exhibit high swelling when exposed tochange in moisture content and have been found to be most hazardous from engineering considerations .So in order toremove problems regarding this, proper treatment of soil is required and it is necessary to stabilize it with any of theadditive substance such as Lime and Fly ash. This paper presents influence of Lime and Fly ash on various testsconducted such as Free Swell Index(FSI),Swelling Pressure, Compaction Characteristics ,Liquid Limit ,Plastic Limit,Plasticity Index .For this Lime content was varied as(0 %,2%,4%,6%,8%,10%,12%)Fly ash as(0%,5%,10%,15%,20%,25%,30%,35%,40%,45%)and Lime –Fly ash both as (0% Lime+0% Fly ash,2% Lime+5% Flyash,4%Lime+10% Fly as,6% Lime+15% Fly ash,8% Lime+20% Fly ash,10% Lime+25% Fly ash,12% Lime+30% Flyash) and mixed it at OMC. The result obtained from experimental study indicates that the Free Swell Index andswelling pressure were reduced regularly with increasing percentage of Lime and Fly ash.
