摘要:Coagulation process in drinking water Treatment is of such importance that a great deal of studies werecarried out on Optimization of working parameters for coagulation and removal of turbidity from raw water source.The aim of the present study is to test the efficiency of natural coagulants, sago and chitin for removing turbidity anddecreasing organic materials from water. It was an empirical and analytic study using Jar Test apparatus. To performqualitative and quantitative analyses, samples with 70 and 150 NTU turbidities, respectively, were tested with thecoagulants. The study advocated that natural coagulants were highly efficient in removing turbidity up to 99% forhigher turbid samples. In terms of removal of Total Organic Carbon (TOC), Chitin was equally proficient as alumcompared to sago.
