摘要:This article presents the results of an exploratory study on the educational aims of the school. The research was conducted with teachers and pre-service teachers at the primary and secondary levels, as well as with the general public. The article will begin by showing the importance of empirica lly considering the conception of aims, which are an " essentially contested" notion, before clarifying it by distinguishing it from other related notions (objectives, functions and goals). The text will then sketch a portrait of the theoretical and, especially, the political and ideological dimensions involved in the debate around the aims of the school. Some analysis grids on this subject will be introduced. Methodological procedures will be briefly presented next. Following the presentation of these results, the discussion will highlight certain tensions between the aim-related options favoured by the general public, teach ers and pre-service teachers, thus raising a series of questions that would require more in-depth study
