  • 摘要:Exposure system is a closed chamber made of wood in which two antennas of same frequency is mounted. One is used for transmission and other for reception. In the exposure system animals like rat can be placed for a longer duration and the effect of radiations on animals can be observed. In this paper, a basic rectangular microstrip patch antenna is designed using transmission line model at 900 MHz. Antenna is designed using CST software and all the parameters like reflection coefficient, gain, VSWR calculated. When the desired return loss (above 30 dB) is achieved and VSWR met the requirement. Then antenna is fabricated on glass epoxy FR4 substrate. After this antenna is tested using spectrum analyzer. The return loss using spectrum analyzer is 12.1 dB .The antenna is also tested using antenna measurement system. The parameters calculated and radiation pattern drawn. The average power of antenna using power meter is calculated. In this way a basic rectangular microstrip antenna is designed, fabricated and tested. A comparison of simulated and fabricated result is made. Hence this paper is an exhaustive study of microstrip patch antenna.
