摘要：La arpía o harpía (del griego Αρπυια1) es un ser fantástico, clasificado habitualmente entre los “híbridos y monstruosos” y dotado de un claro sentido negativo.Se conforma generalmente de cabeza de mujer, cuerpo femenino o de ave y cola de serpiente o escorpión, pudiendo tener incluso patas de ave de presa.Su fisionomía no es estable, como tampoco lo son sus descripciones e identificaciones, ya que habitualmente suele confundirse con la sirenapájaro2, que desde la Antigüedad era descrita como un ser compuesto por rostro femenino y cuerpo de ave, diferenciándose de la arpía medieval por la ausencia de cola de serpiente o escorpión.Su carácter repugnante, devorador y aéreo las relaciona con los infiernos.
其他摘要：The harpy (from Greek Αρπυια) is a fantastic creature, classified usually as a “hybrid or monstrous being”, with a clearly negative connotation. It is generally depicted with a women’s head, a female or a bird’s body and a snake or a scorpion’s tail. It could eventually have a bird of prey’s feet. Its appearance is not regular and neither are its descriptions, due to the fact that it is confused with the mermaid-bird, which, since the Antiquity, was described as a creature composed of a female face and a bird’s body. It differed from the medieval harpy in the absence of a snake or a scorpion’s tail. The harpies’ disgusting, devouring and aerial nature connects them with Hell.
