摘要:Purpose: Development was identified as being an economic growth over a long period in economic literature. So, the best statistical measure that indicates the economic performance of a country, respectively allows for a cross-country comparison (for example, a comparison between the rich and the poor countries, the developed and the developing countries), and similar classification with respect to gross national income per capita (GNI per capita expressed in purchasing power parity), appears to be the human development index. Methodology: This index transposes into a synthetic substituent of the three indicators presented before, it measures the relative distance that separates each country of the world by the targets considered to be priority not so far, but especially in the future, either: a long and healthy life, a free access to the acquisition of knowledge and, not least, a level of income to ensure a decent standard of living, which would be preferable to be on the world's average level of gross national income per capita. Findings: The index was published for the first time in 1990; when the first report was prepared by the team led by Pakistani economist MahbubulHaq This article aims to analyze the proportion of the three indicators on the continental level on 160 countries. Recommendations: Policy recommendations are made.
