标题：AGROFOOD CRAFTS AND PUBLIC POLICY AT THE CROSSROADS OF GLOBALIZATION

摘要：In the second decade of the century, we live in a worrying world full of threats to the survival of mankind. It is a world filled with change, marked by tension and conflict, triggered by globalization and multinational corporations that threaten the survival of crafts and local food traditions. Reconsidering the origins, history, and future prospects of these traditions in a national, Latin American, or global context presents a challenge to the theoretical and methodological approaches of those social sciences interested in influencing this field with public policy actions. Hence, the importance of addressing the following set of measures: first, encourage, at all educational levels, the sociological analysis of films, documentaries, books, and magazines on cultural, ecological and social values that embody agrifood crafts; second, promote multi- and inter-disciplinary research, as well as the extension and dissemination of local food knowledge; and third, develop cooperation schemes between local governments, civil society and academia to contribute to the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of public policies for he long-term social, economic, cultural and ecological preservation of crafts and agri-food traditions.
