摘要：Expert Systems are entering a critical stage as interest spreadsfrom university research to practical applications. The proposedExpert system is expected to solve the problems faced in aneducational institute for gathering information for managementlevel from the faculty level. Depending on the level ofauthorization the system will respond and provide a satisfactoryanswer for the query posed. Both essential and desirablefeatures of an expert system are discussed. Components of anadaptive system are identified, with an emphasis on themechanisms that enable adaptive behavior to occur. Knowledgerepresentation in a rule-based, object-orientated expertsystem is described through the establishment ofappropriate relationships utilizing heuristic rules, objects,and agents. The experimental expert system displays lowlevel learning capabilities that show sufficient promise towarrant further research
