其他摘要:This research aims to analyse the usefulness of Google searches for explaining or predicting events. A paneldata econometric model is proposed that demonstrates that Google search statistics have explanatory and predictive capacity for the trend in voting intention in the Spanish elections. The relationship between votes and searches is significant, positive and greater than unity, which means that if Google search statistics increase by 1 point, voting intention increases by more than 1% of the electorate.
