标题：Necesidades de atención en salud percibidas por adultos mayores cubanos

摘要：Introducción: el envejecimiento demográfico en Cuba, impone un impostergable reto para el sistema de salud y otros sectores de la sociedad. Objetivo: conocer las percepciones de adultos mayores sobre sus necesidades de atención en salud. Métodos: investigación cualitativa en el 2012, con 12 grupos focales (111 personas) de ambos sexos de 60 años y más, residentes en seis municipios de la provincia La Habana. Resultados: las necesidades son expresión de las dificultades por las que atraviesan los adultos mayores. Mostraron necesidad de ser aceptados y amados por la familia. La distancia de los servicios médicos incidió en el acceso a la atención de salud. Señalaron escasez de personal especializado para atender sus necesidades . Hubo valoración positiva de la atención médica, pero sitieron inconformidad con las visitas de terreno. Reclamaron prioridad en la atención que reciben en los servicios y desearon que se tomen en consideración sus opiniones para la elaboración estrategias y programas de salud. Conclusiones: las percepciones reflejan que hay brechas por solucionar en relación con sus necesidades y la atención en salud. Es preciso que las instancias decisoras de los servicios de salud tengan presentes las necesidades de este segmento poblacional en el momento de trazar políticas y estrategias de salud. Los adultos mayores perciben que necesitan del apoyo y aceptación de la familia, que se traduciría en un mejor estado de salud. Queda mucho por hacer para mejorar la calidad de vida de este grupo, lo que hace más compleja la situación para los años futuros.
其他摘要：Introduction: the aging population in Cuba calls for an urgent challenge in Health System and other segments of society Objective : to find out the perceptions of older people on their health care needs. Methods: qualitative research study conducted in 2012 on 12 focal groups involving 111 people of both sexes aged 60 years and over, who lived in 6 municipalities of Havana province. Results: the needs expressed the difficulties that the adult people faced; they showed their need of being accepted by their families. Distant health services hindered their access to health care as well as lack of medical experts. Medical care provided to them was positively assessed but there was some degree of disappointment with the home visit program. They demanded some priority at the time of receiving a service and that their opinions are taken into account in the drawing up of health strategies and programs. Conclusions: the perceptions collected in this study showed that there are still gaps to be filled in meeting the older adults' needs and in health care services for them. It is essential that the decision-making authorities in the health care sector bear in mind the needs of this population segment at the time of drawing up new health policies and strategies. The older adults need the support and acceptance of their families, which would lead to better health status. Much work remains to be done to improve the quality of life of this group, so the situation will be more complex in the forthcoming years.
