摘要：This text discusses the Cordel poetry impo rt ance in the literacy of EJA st udents, especially adults and seniors. The objective of this study is to analyze examples of this kind o f literature - Cordel - in the perspective of this specific literacy. Ideas of Soares, Cosson, Zumtho r, Ferreira and Freire, amo ng others, will be discussed in order to define "Cordel", literary and cultural manifestation marginalized for decades and related to underprivileged social segment s, such as efficient inst rument of lit eracy
