  • 摘要:The aim of this study was to investigate the knowledge and attitudes of students of Sultan Qaboos Universityregarding organic and genetically modified food products. Data was collected using a questionnaire that wasdistributed to 460 randomly selected students from eight colleges of Sultan Qaboos University, with 233 malestudents and 227 females included in the study. The results showed that students had average knowledge aboutorganic food products but poor knowledge about genetically modified food. They also held highly positive attitudestoward organic food products and negative attitudes toward genetically modified products. The results showed thethere was a distinction in the knowledge and attitudes of male and female students; while male students had a higherlevel of knowledge about both types of food, females had stronger attitudes, with more strongly positive attitudestowards organic food products and more strongly negative attitudes towards genetically modified food products. Thestudy also showed that students’ knowledge and attitudes differed according to the college to which they belonged
