摘要:The purpose of this study was to investigate the prevalence of bullying and victimization among Turkish elementary school students and its relationship to gender and grade level. It was reported that 79.6 % of the elementary level students were bullied during the last month. It also was reported that the type of bulling that students experienced the most was verbal and physical bulling. It was revealed that the percentage of male students experiencing verbal, physical and spreading of rumors type of bullying was significantly much higher than female students. Due to the likelihood of those who bully at an early age to offend in the future and physically, emotionally, psychologically and academically adverse effects of bullying on the bully and the victim, in order to determine the types of bullying experienced by the children at elementary level and its frequency as well as to cleanse schools of bullying, programs have to be urgently implemented.
