摘要：In this study, we have examined the interaction between doctors and patients with HIV/AIDS. The fieldwork, of qualitative nature, was carried out in the Ambulatório de Doenças Infecciosas e Parasitárias do Hospital-Escola da Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso. Three doctors and nine patients took part in this study. The interpretation of the data was based upon Goffman’s studies on face to face interaction, mainly when the author closely examines the interaction between “a stigmatized person” and “an informed person”. The interaction between doctors and patients with HIV/AIDS causes a reconsideration of the usual roles performed by the social actors.
