摘要:The present work aimed to assess the diet habits and nutritional conditions among elderly people who attend in the Projeto Saúde, Bombeiros e Sociedade do município de Limoeiro do Norte/CE. The study was done with 50 elderly women with age around 68,1±5,54 years old. For diet habits assessment was used like a tool the recall usual, further analyzed by the software Avanutri® on the energy, macronutrients and micronutrients. Furthermore, a comparison was made of dietary intake with the amount of servings of food groups of Brazilian food pyramid. Qualified nutritional status from the Body Mass Index (BMI) and the result of Mini-Nutricional Assessmente (MNA ®. Relating to the diet habit profile, the elderly women consume around 1414.72 ± 619.01 kcal / day, the average values found were 58.56% carbohydrate, 1.07 g / kg of protein, 22.76% lipid, and 11.93 g / day of dietary fiber. The micronutrients most had to be inadequate, such as vitamins A, D, E, B1, B2 and minerals, folic acid, calcium, phosphorus and zinc. To assess the nutritional status, body mass index revealed that 26% of the elderly women were well nourished and 64% were obese, while the MNA® rated as 94% of normal elderly. The elderly females showed a food intake contemplating the groups proposed in the food pyramid, with lower consumption of dairy products, fruits and vegetables. Furthermore, there was an excessive intake of sodium and saturated fats that may be related to chronic diseases: hypertension and dyslipidemia. Regarding nutritional status was prevalence of obesity.
