摘要：The article, using the publications of Voennyi Sbornik (Military Journal) considers the Caucasian War. The first article on this theme was published in 1859. The inner criticism of the historic source is conducted. The major rubrications of the journal are detected. Four major genres of publications, concerning the Caucasian War are singled out: 1. Recollections by the combatants; 2. Scenes from the battle and official information; 3. Military and historic research; 4. Biographies of the combatants.
