标题：Identidad social negativa y exclusión social: Los jornaleros migratorios en Tamaulipas

摘要：La relevancia del concepto de identidad social negativa aparece asociada a la centralidad del mismo en la solidificación de procesos de exclusión social. El objetivo general de este artículo es examinar los mecanismos a través de los cuales se construye la identidad social negativa de los jornaleros migratorios que llegan desde Veracruz, San Luis Potosí y Chiapas a la comarca citrícola de Tamaulipas. Se utilizó una metodología cualitativa que incluyó entrevistas en profundidad a 60 jornaleros migratorios, a los presidentes municipales de 3 municipios de la zona y a algunos empleadores. Se concluye que la identidad social negativa de los jornaleros migratorios se construye a partir de dos mecanismos: la veracidad del estereotipo de la falta de higiene de los migrantes, sobre el que se cimientan el resto de estereotipos negativos, y el caso omiso a los comportamientos no estereotípicos. Por lo tanto, si se proporciona a los migrantes alojamientos salubres, se desmoronará el estereotipo de la suciedad y el resto de estereotipos negativos perderán su fundamento.
其他摘要：Relevance of the negative social identity concept appears to be associated with its centrality in solidifying social exclusion processes. The general objective of this article is to examine the mechanisms through which the negative social identity of migrant farm workers from Veracruz, San Luis Potosí and Chiapas arriving in the citrus-growing region of Tamaulipas, is built. Qualitative methodology was used that included in-depth interviews with 60 migrant farm workers, presidents of 3 municipalities in the area and some employers. Conclusions were that the migrant workers’ negative social identity is built on two mechanisms: first, the veracity of the stereotype of the migrants’ poor hygiene, which underlies the rest of the negative stereotypes, and the second, ignoring non-stereotypical behaviors. If migrants are provided with healthy accommodations, the stereotype of dirtiness will crumble and the rest of the negative stereotypes will lose their foundation.
