  • 摘要:The field of the present study is the citizenship behaviors of university teachers (CB UT). It aims to show how CBUT relate to: a) the professional motivation and self-confidence of students; b) the way students evaluate teachers' performance. A sample of 249 undergraduate students and 123 university teachers was collected. The students were invited to describe the CBUT of one of their present teachers, and the university teachers were asked to describe the behaviors of a former teacher. Four CBUT dimensions were studied: participatory behavior, practical orientation, conscientiousness and (dis)courtesy. The results show that: a) both students and teachers weight significantly the four dimensions; b) teachers give more importance to practical orientation and conscientiousness than students do, while the obverse occurs with the participatory behavior. The empirical evidence suggests the construct pertinence and gives clues to future research within the domain of the quality in higher education and academic performance.
