摘要：The number of deaths every year associated with anaesthesia is sufficiently large to be a matter of concern. Deaths attributable to anaesthesia and/or surgery may be due to anaesthetic agent, improper technique or inexperience, and functional problems. All deaths occurring during the course of anaesthesia and surgery or within a reasonable period thereafter (commonly referred to as peri-operative period) have to be reported to the police as these deaths cannot be regarded as natural. Systemic toxicity of anaesthetic drugs is most commonly manifested in central nervous system producing convulsions. Here we report a case which was scheduled for myomectomy under spinal anaesthesia and the patient died due to toxicity of bupivacaine.
