摘要:In this paper, I utilize social equity as a guiding administrative value to assess the implications of the expansion of online education in America’s community colleges. Online education holds promise for our nation’s community colleges and can serve as a useful tool for state and local governments seeking to reduce costs while expanding educational offerings to traditional and non-traditional students. Nevertheless, while the traditional administrative values of efficiency and economy are served by the use of this pedagogical approach, there remain a variety of open questions regarding the social equity implications of an expansion of this instructional modality.
