摘要:The aim of the paper is to use the selected informative medium as a source of data about spatial perceptions of five areas in the dalmatian hinterland – Zagora, Bukovica, Ravni kotari, Zabiokovlje, Neretva area. Analysing the archives of the selected media source, a detailed set of criteria is used to extract and spatially classify the relevant geographic names in order to define the extents of perception of the mentioned regions as cognitive models (the concept of vernacular region). The acquired results for the five vernacular regions, standardized on the level of administrative units, are used to construct an imaginative map of the Dalmatian hinterland as a reflection of the collective imagery of the regions’ spatial extent.
