ROSET compounds are able to release a wide range of photographic useful groups by a novel ring opening mechanism which is triggered by an electron transfer. They can be applied to various photographic systems with excellent characteristics as releasing compounds. Examples of applications to the photothermographic color hardcopy system and to the graphic arts system are described.
