The objective of this study is to examine from the educational point of view the actual condition of conversation between mother and child at meal time. The results are as follows : 1) Conversation between mother and child tends to have more contents of their life and less contents of knowledge sharing. Mother and daughter tends to have more communication than mother and son. 2) Educational conversation is closely related to the number of times they have conversation, warm dinner table conversation, and intensity of their conversation. 3) Tenderness combined with strictness is the image the child holds of his or her mother who tries to share her knowledge. 4) The conversation that has educational significance is only partially related to mother's occupation.
