This paper deals with the results of the self-propulsion tests in still water and regular waves on three systematic series models of different fullness of fishing boat forms. In the first place the effects of hull form upon propulsion factors in still water were investigated. By the self-propulsion tests in longitudinal regular waves, the increase of thrust, shaft torque, revolution and power as well as the amplitude of pitching and heaving were measured, and the effects of tuning factor, wave length and hull form etc. on these variables were studied. The propulsion factors of wake fraction and relative rotative efficiency in waves were also analysed and compared with the results in still water.
