The author lighted upon the fact that the phenomenon of Kármán vortex was applicable to the speed meter by theoretical study and various experiments, the details of which were already described in the Report of Ship Experiment Tank in Tokyo, No. 6. Then the author tried to realize the above principle actually upon the ship speed meter, the details of the mechanisms of which, and also its test results with an actual ship, are described here in this paper.
