摘要：This research has as its theme Social Work and intra-family violence against women: challenges and possibilities of professional action. Violence against women by their partners is a phenomenon whose origin is in gender inequality and is introjected into the social structure within family relationships, therefore, to address this problem, the research sought to know what the challenges and possibilities are. of professional performance of the Social Worker in the face of intrafamily violence against women, as well as knowing the role of the Social Service in the face of this violence. In this way, it aims to describe the different causes for which violence against women occurs, and how social intervention is carried out. For this purpose, bibliographic methods were used, such as the works of Barbosa, Azevedo, Boni and Iamamoto. From these surveys and deepening of the theme, the work sought foundation that would lead to the importance of social workers working in the family. This work was developed from the motivation to know more about this type of social problem that affects society and based on the results to reflect on the real situation experienced by women and the response given by social intervention. Therefore, it is concluded that violence against women within the family requires a multisectoral response and that the research is timely, it aims to raise awareness of the need for a compassionate and stronger response.
