摘要：This research deals with the translation process of the complex clauses exerted in Indonesian news items into English. The analytical framework applied in this study is based on Functional Grammar theories, i.e., tactic system and logico-semantic relation to process the transfer of meanings from the original text into the target text. The research findings indicate that the types of meanings that existed in the original texts, such as paratactic, hypotactic, elaboration, extension, enhancement, quote projection, idea projection, and proposition/proposal projection can be scientifically transferred into the target texts equivalently.
