摘要:Globally, Asthma leads a major problem in health with variety of differences showing with prevalence and intensity. It is one of the prolonged respiratory disease identified by obstruction in flowing of air, increased responsiveness in bronchial area due to primary inflammation in airway. Indicators of this disease includes breathlessness, cough, pain in the chest or presence of tightness in chest and wheezing. If the disease is not controlled properly, it may further lead to be hospitalization, with visibility of reduced quality of life with limitations in daily activities. Asthma can be treated with a breathing technique named as Buteyko breathing technique. This technique helps to maintain the normal breathing pattern which may helps to reduce the breathing difficulty among asthmatic patients. The important component in Buteyko technique is to decrease hyperventilation syndrome by controlling breathing by slow breathing or reduced breathing intermittently holding or pausing the breath. The study aimed to assess the physiological parameters, to assess the effectiveness of Buteyko breathing technique those who full fill the inclusion criteria, to associate the level of physiological parameters with selected demographic variables.A quantitative evaluatory approach with Pre- experimental one group pre-test post-test only design was adopted for the study. Non-probability Purposive sampling technique was adopted to select 40 samples. The result of the study showsthat in physiological parameters, with respect to heart rate 71 -80 beats/minute having 15 samples, 81-90 beats/minute having 10 samples and 91-100 beats/minute having 12 samples with compare to sample undergone Buteyko breathing technique were 71-80 beats/minute having 20samples, 81-90beats/minute having 16 sample, and 91-100beats/minute having 4 sample. According to respiration, 13-18 breaths/minute having 20 members, 19-24 breaths/minute 15 members, 25-30 breaths/minute having 5 members with compare to sample undergone Buteyko breathing technique 13-18breaths/minute having 23 samples19-24breaths/minute having 16 samples, 25-30breaths/minute having only one sample. According tothe Blood Pressure Less than 120/80mmHg having 5 samples, 120/90 – 139/90mmHg having 26 samples, 140/90–159/99mmHg having 9 sample with compare to sample undergone Buteyko breathing technique Less than 120/80 mmHg having 3 samples, 120/90 – 139/90 mmHg having 29 samples and 140/90– 159/99 mmHg having 8 samples. According to Oxygen saturation more than 96% having 18 samples and 91–95% having 22 sample with compare to sample undergone Buteyko breathing technique more than 96%, having 32 samples, 91–95% having 8 samples. The study concludes that the Buteyko breathingtechnique have some impact on the physiological parameters of the patient having Bronchial asthma.
