摘要：Obesity is a serious medical condition globally, which can cause complications such as high blood pressure, metabolic syndrome, atherosclerosis, diabetes, hypercholesterolemia, sleep disorders. Use of herbal medicines in the management of obesity is the need of the hour. The aim of this study is to create awareness on the role of herbal medicines in the management of obesity. A questionnaire based survey was designed and administered to the participants through an online survey planet link. This study was approved by the Institutional Review Board, Saveetha Dental College. The data was collected and statistically analysed. 76% agreed that they were aware of alternative medicine for weight loss remaining 24% were not aware of it. 76.6 % agreed that ginger and black pepper helps in weight loss. Awareness camps and seminars may be conducted to create awareness on the use of herbal medicine, avoiding the intake of junk foods, lifestyle modification to manage obesity among the community.
