摘要：Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana is a training programme meant to improve the skills of the youth of India over a period of time. It will help the youth to get a better livelihood. The scheme helps them to get skilled hand certificates. A third party engaged by the implementing agency will assess the training need so that a standardized skill development process can be developed. It is important in the sense that this will help to create a pool of trained manpower as per the specific requirement of the 43 industries. India is a developing country. India's youth are its greatest asset. The effective utilisation of youth is a critical demand for India. Skill development is one of them, and it is included in any of the primary programme. The initiative benefits the Indian economy in a variety of ways, including supplying people with services and offering work opportunities to qualifying unskilled jobless youngsters. This strategy also complements other government initiatives, such as accessible human resources. The purpose of this study was to learn about the functions and Schemes available of the Pradhan Mantra Kasushal Vikas Yolanda. An empirical study was made in Salem district. The purposive sampling technique was used for the study. 250 young generation was selected as the respondents. The study concluded that the awareness of the young people does not vary according to the gender. Both male and female people are having similar level of awareness about the scheme.
