摘要:Children with developmental problems screened and treated in community settings are described in this study. Children requiring resource-intensive interventions must be identified at the earliest through screening. Disruptive behaviours are common reason for referring children to services, regardless of diagnosis. Children with mental and developmental disabilities were less likely to refer for drug use, truancy, or running but they are more likely to refer for social interaction issues and unusual conduct. Many children experience mental illness, substance abuse, and domestic violence in their families. Community-based rehabilitation (CBR) is a well-recognized strategy for improving rehabilitation services in the community. It includes health care, education, employment and safe places. The following pertinent topics are covered in the review: target group definition, developmental screening tools and psychomotor tests, risk factors, early intervention, and developmental screening program evaluation. The ramifications of these findings are thoroughly examined.
