标题：AWARENESS ON FIRST AID TREATMENT AMONG COLLEGE STUDENTS IN SOUTH INDIA - A QUESTIONNAIRE BASED SURVEY

摘要：First aid is a quick,temporary and simple step with minimal or no medical equipment that is done outside the hospital in order to save someone’s life or at least relieve pain and prevent condition from worsening until the arrival of health care providers that is the main aim of first aid.College going students are expected by general public to know how to do first aid to an injured person. The aim of this study is to create the awareness on first aid among college students in South India. A set of questionnaire was framed and an online survey was conducted among college students using survey planet. 100 college going students have taken the survey and the results were statistically analyzed. In this study, the most common emergency of bleeding,fracture,burns, choking,epistaxis, seizure, hypoglycemic attack,poisoning were selected. In this survey 78.1% had information about first aid skill.82.7% students found this survey very helpful to gain knowledge about first aid. CONCLUSION: Accidents are considered to be serious and they're frequently encountered on a daily basis, and they result in bad outcomes due to unavailability of health care providers. Saveetha Dental College and HospitalsEven though the students are aware about the first aid more awareness has to be created about the do’s and don'ts of first aid. First aid training programs should be conducted in the colleges to improve knowledge and basic skills of first aid.
