  • 摘要:This study aimed to investigate the significant determinants of ECCE for quality Education in Ethiopia. The study instrumentalized the mixed research method through concurrent strategy and Quantitative and qualitative approach. There were 10 governmental and 10 private pre-primary school centres in the Wolaita Zone Sodo town. The target population were 78 pre-primary school teachers, 20 school principals, 4 supervisors, the town education office head, and 400 parents. The town education head officers were taken as samples using the available sampling method because they were small and manageable. Regarding parents, 400 parents were selected by a simple random sampling method from the two strata (government and private). Questionnaires were employed for data collection. The collected data were also analyzed by quantitative technique. The quantitative data were analyzed using inferential statistics like Binary logistic regression (Logit Model) to check the effect of the independent variable on the dependent variable. The result of data analyses revealed that qualified teachers, leadership and management, family income, parent education level, access to book and play materials, quality child care, school environment, standard curriculum, play-based methodology, assessment method, CPD for teachers and principals, stakeholders support are the major determinants of ECCE and quality education at 0.001 level of significance, with the Chi-square 144.543, Cox and Shell R2 0.567, Nagelkerke R2 0.789, Hosmer and Lemeshow Goodness of fit test 4,39 (p=0,821). The study recommended appropriately institutionalizing all the above determinants that highly influence ECCE education quality. Moreover, the government need to institutionalize the ECCE teacher development institute to build the capacity of teachers.
