摘要:Mounting cost overrun in infrastructure projects has become a norm rather than anexception. Allinfrastructure projects, including electricity projects,have been exhibiting cost overruns; hence current study attempted to check empirically the impact of size, implementation phaseand ownership on costoverrun. It was done by usinga Multiple Regression model with one dummy variable. As pre-requirement, all the assumptionsof the Multiple Regression model have been checked. The study's results showed that the project size and implementation phase positively impact project cost overrun. At the same time,no significant impact of ownership on cost overrun was observed. It is recommended that small hydro projects instead of large projects should be encouraged. Further caution should be given that the implementation phase should not be more than the scheduled time as a larger implementation period translates into cost overrun due to more uncertainties.
