摘要:Gender disparity in higher education is changing whereby female are dominating male students. This paper is an attempt to identify the factors that are causing less male participation in higher education based on a systematic review of the literature. To conduct a systematic review, PRISMA statement guidelines are used. Electronic databases were searched resulting in retrievals of 4050 articles. Due to the limited literature on male disparity, 18 highly relevant peer-reviewed studies were selected from 2010 to 2019. The review of selected studies suggested factors that are categorized into eight segments. Based on the identified factors, a comprehensive conceptual framework has been developed. The findings of this paper are substantial and identified factors that can be used strategically to comprehensively study the gender disparity in higher education as a future way forward.
