  • 摘要:Saleh Bay is one of the semi-enclosed waters areas in the Nusa Tenggara Barat Province, which is wealthy of fisheries resources. Moreover, its strategic position, surrounded by several small islands makes this bay becomes a fertile water area. Fishing activities in Saleh Bay seem ineffective and inefficient because locals are still using traditional methods. This study aimed to create a mapping model of fishing ground in Saleh Bay based on remote sensing satellite data. The daily Suomi-National Polar-Orbiting Partnership (SNPP) image level 3 during January and August 2019 was analyzed spatially. The period of image acquisition is adapted from the seasonal period of Indonesia. The study area's determination was based on thermal front events approached from sea surface temperature (SST) data. Moreover, SST data were analyzed using statistical regression with a Non-Linear Multi-Channel SST (NLSST) approach. The average SST distribution in January 2019 was relatively high ranged from 30.39 up to 33.70 oC. In contrast, in August 2019, the temperature declined significantly, ranging from 25.09 up to 29.30 oC. Concerning the fishing ground model, a plethora of fishing ground possibility areas was identified in August compared to the January observation with 144 and 42 points, respectively. This condition was following the density of fishing ground. Fishing ground points are most likely to concentrate in the bay mouth during the southwest monsoon and within the bay near the plateau during northwest monsoon. The seasonal variability of Saleh Bay has a significant role in extracting the spatially fishing ground data.
